Joe Cochrane is an award-winning Jakarta-based foreign correspondent and editor. He has covered Indonesia and Southeast Asia for 18 years for the world’s leading global publications including Newsweek magazine, The Economist and the Asia Wall Street Journal. He is also a founding editor of the Jakarta Globe newspaper as well as Strategic Review: The Indonesian Journal of Leadership, Policy and World Affairs. A former war correspondent who did multiple tours of Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, he is currently the Indonesia correspondent for the International New York Times. He is also the current president of the Jakarta Foreign Correspondents Club (JFCC).
