Panel Discussion: Can Cities Really Save the World?

Cities are now widely recognized as the engines of environmental, economic and social change in this urban century. How can cities meaningfully lead the way on the major issues of our time: climate change, economic crisis, job creation, inequality or security? Has too much hope been placed in cities? Should the return of the city-state be welcomed? Are we turning our backs on our rural roots?

This session will take place in the Plenary Hall.

We offer simultaneous translation services (English-Bahasa Indonesia) for this session.

Moderated by Nick Clark.
